About
The global HIV response faced one of its most significant set of challenges in decades as funding shifts occurred putting essential services and hard-won gains at risk. At the same time, innovation is accelerating. UNAIDS has provided rapid coordination, guidance and technical assistance to support countries for the rollout of affordable and accessible long-acting pre-exposure prophylaxis, building global momentum to scale up diversified HIV prevention options.
The Global AIDS Strategy 2026 2031 sets out an ambitious, evidence-informed path to end AIDS as a public health threat and sustain this progress beyond 2030.
Now is the moment for bold and urgent action to close gaps and accelerate results. Together, we can ensure that the HIV response does not backtrack—and that we continue to deliver for the people we serve.
